WHAT WAS YOUR BEST EXPERIENCE THIS SEMESTER?
Well I had a lot of experience that I have been missing for about six years, ever since I got out of high school, I think adjusting back to school was the hardest, because it has been a while since I have been to any kind of class, especially studying every day, and trying to get my brain working and focused, I am still a little confused on what I want to be or do, I know I want to get into natural resources, something in that field. And another thing is just getting use to college, because I can't screw around, I have no help from my family because they are broke so I took out some school loans, so I can't screw around because I will eventually have to pay it back, so I need to succeed so I am not in debt my whole life.

READING REACTION 2: WHAT OUR THE GOOD AND THE BAD WITH DEALING WITH KIDS? WHY?
My name is Derrick Amstadter and I have babysitted my llittle brother and his friends on and off for a long time, and it is mostly fun, but everything has a good and a bad to it, the only bad part was when they do not get there way they would start pouting and I would have to give them a time out, but all kids act dilfferently so sometimes it is hard to keep them all happy, so I learned to keep them all busy buy playing games with everybody and not to leave anybody out, I like watching them at this age because they are learning so much, so I tought them about responsibility and sharing and to work together, and I also help them with there school work and etc, and if they do really good we will go to the park and play, witch they love because I let them do stuff they usually can't do with there parents but I make sure that everyone is extremly carefull and that they behave really good, I think It works out pretty good because I talk to them like adults and they like that because it makes them feel older, and I also like watching them because society is crazy and I rather them be with me then out in the streets roaming around getting in trouble or even getting really hurt.

WRITE ABOUT A FAVORITE MEMORY FROM YOUR CHILDHOOD. TRY TO USE AS MUCH DETAIL AS POSSIBLE.
When I was about three or four years old my mom always took us to the park to ride our bikes, she would bring my brother and some of our friends, and it just so happens I was the youngest out of the group and the only one with training wheels, and when we would ride they would ditch me because I could not keep up with the older kids and they would always make fun of me because of the training wheels and this happened almost every day. Then one day it was just me and my mom and it was a nice summer day so I talked her into going to the park and letting me try to ride the bike without training wheels on, she was hesitent at first becuse she thought I was rushing into it to early but she new I was tired of the other kids teasing me and that I wanted to keep up with them. So she took them off, I hopped on that bike so quick and was off I felt like I was a natural I don't think I even fell once, I told my mom not to tell any body bacause I wanted to surprise them. The next day we went to the park and started to ride, they took off quickly like usual to ride laps around the park they thought they ditched me but when they turned around I was still with them and then they noticed I took off the training wheels and ever since then I was able to keep up with them and I was not considrered the baby any more.

DESCRIBE A PERFECT WEATHER DAY WHAT WOULD YOU DO ON A DAY LIKE THIS.
A perfect wheather day for me is sunny about 80-90 degrees with a little bit of a cool breeze, with no clouds in the sky, and I would go fishing early in the morning to start the day off at the lake until people start to show up, then we would start riding some seadoos or a jet ski which we wolud ride all day, and of course we would bbq and have some drinks and relax until the sun set then we would get a little camp area, start up a camp fire and camp there and remenouse about everything.
IF YOU COULD INVITE THREE FAMOUS PEOPLE TO DINNER, WHO WOULD YOU INVITE? WHAT WOULD YOU TALK ABOUT? WHAT WOULD YOU EAT?
This is a hard journal to right because I really don't know who I would have dinner with, If I could choose three famous people I guess it would be with Abraham lincoln because I love what he was about and what he was trying to fight for, so I would pick his brain a little bit and see if he likes the way the country and the world is being ran now. I would also invite Bob marley because I love what he sings about and what he was fighting for like equal rights and justice for all man kind, raggae music relaxes me because it is so peaceful. I would also pick his brian with the same qustions. And the last person would be my brother, even though I have had dinner with him plenty of times but not recently, I never get to see him any more and he is like my roll model, I would ask him how is work and life treating him and that we should talk more often. And we would problably eat some steak and ribs with corn on cob, bacon wrapped mushrooms and esparagus and a whole lot of wine.

READING REACTION A JOB YOU WOULD LIKE AND THE REWARDS IT WOULD BRING YOU?
I would want to do something with natural resources. It rewards it self just knowing you are protecting the enviorment, and the future will be healthier. I would be satisfied just knowing our kids will be living in a healthier world and the future would be prolonged. This job can be very emotional especially if you care about the enviorment, this is where we live and knowing I am helping to prolonging our future, enviorment and family generations.

DESCRIBE A MEMORABLE TEACHER YOU HAVE HAD HOW WAS HE/SHE SPECIAL FOR YOU?
Well honestly I really haven't had to many cool teacher's who seemed like they cared what we learned, and how we we were doing in those subjects, at least in Los Angeles, maybe because the schools and classrooms were so packed. But then I moved to Chico and had to go to a continuation school called North County Community school, which only had about sixty students so it was a lot different. I had to go there because I was behind and they would catch you up and put you in a regular school, that's where I met Frank Catermerisiuos who was really cool, he cared about the students, he would stay after school and help who ever needed it, with there subjects, even when he was off. And if you weren't having a good day or had something on your mind important he would discuss it with you even if he was busy, and maybe take you out to lunch to talk more personally and that helped a lot knowing he would work with you. Sometimes he would call up some students and take us to play sports on the weekends and that took a lot of stress off the students, and that seemed to make school so much easier without the stress and a little bit of fun.

WHAT IS YOUR DEFINITION OF LOVE?
Well I really don't think what love really is relationship wise I have thought I was in love but alot of times it doesn't work out and turns into anger and sadness but in family wise, I love most of them, I think I would do absolutely anything for them because they were there for me when I was younger and helped me out, especially my mom and older brother, they are the reason I turned out the way I did and I would give my life for them if I could and that especially includes my little brother who is nine years old now who I love alot to, so pretty much love to me is somebody you would do absolutly anything for.

WHAT IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR?
Well I think that's pretty easy, of course you should fight for your rights and everyone elses because that is just part of humanity, sad to say. And of course I would fight for my family of course I would not want anything to happen to them, especially the close ones because I really don't know what I would do if I lost my mom or one of my brothers, because I am so use to them being around so of course I would fight for them, and I would fight for my close friends because they help you out and you help them out and that's why were friends and alot of them I grew up with and we have through everything together and I don't have many of them just like my family and that's why I would do anything for them if I possibly can. In some situations I have learned that somethings our not worth fighting for.

DESCRIBE SOMEONE WHO IS CLOSE TO YOU.WHAT DO YOU ADMIRE MOST ABOUT THIS PERSON?
My mom is who I admire the most, she grew up as a run away because her mom was a drunk and was never around, she has four sisters and one brother, she met my dad when she was fifteen years old and she dropped out of school, because of my dad manipulating her, she got pregnant with my older brother when she was eighteen years old and has been raising kids ever since she had me eighteen months later. Everything started out normal but then my dad started to stay at the bars after work and then he would come home and beat my mom, me and my brother for absolutely nothing and that lasted a little while, about a year or two and then he just stopped coming home, so my mom who never had a job or paid bills or anything adult like because my dad made sure the man took care of that, so she got a job at toys r us and worked while we were at school and she started to pay the bills, she would give us her last dollar so we could get something to eat, pond her childhood items and possessions to pay the bills my dad left us like rent, pg and e phone etc, that worked for a while, then my dad and my mom got back together and got married after eighteen years of dating, that just made things worst and so they thought of a divorce, my mom was tired of living in Los Angeles where she had no relatives or friends really, because of her sheltered life, so we moved up north to Chico where my moms family mostly lives like her brother and sister's, the first week my mom found out she was pregnant with my little brother Jared which was my dad's to, she raised him until he was old enough to go to school, which we always worked since we were young to help pay for food and bills and me and my brother were almost done with high school, so my mom started to go to butte college which she is studying for criminology, so if it wasn't for my mom me and my brothers would not have turned out the way we have
WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY?WHAT CAN YOU DO TO BRING MORE HAPPINESS TO YOUR LIFE?
Well what makes me happy is pretty simple I grew up in a big city right in downtown Los Angeles and there wasn't really a lot to of things to do down there I know it don't seem right but theirs to many gangsters and punk's, so when you go out you usually run into drama. But but since I moved up north to Chico I realize the whole worlds not just a city with a lot of people I found out about the mountains and camping, fishing and stuff that gets all the worrying out of my head and stop thinking about reality, just like sports, baseball, basketball, football, soccer, hockey, skateboarding I do it all, not just because it's good exercise because it gets my mind off of things and not on stuff that makes me stress out, even just taking my brother out and it's my little brother and we play sports or go to the movies etc, and that's fun for me, I guess because I am not spoiled and enjoy the little stuff like freedom, life, even video games etc and that's pretty much going to sun it up I guess I love the outdoors because it's quiet peaceful, relaxing your never in hurry to go some where or do something and that's what I consider fun.

DESCRIBE YOUR DREAM JOB WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN THIS POSITION? WHAT WOULD YOU ENJOY ABOUT IT
Well to be honest I really dont know what I really want to do. I have a bunch of ideas I, I know it's going to be outdoors somewhere, and it will problably have to do with natural resources, and there is a bunch of different fields,so thats why I really dont know exactly what I want to do, a park ranger would be exciting thats one, fish and gain would be another, anything that has to do with Natural Resource Officers. I dont know what I would exactly do in that field, it would problably have to do with National parks, historic stuff, even water like lakes, ponds rivers, creeks, trees, bushes, and we would test it for all kinds of stuff like, chemicals, diseases, hazards, life, fishes, animals etc. And we would problably try to save them from being ruined by society, like buildings and buissneses our taking these places. I dont know exactly, thats why I want to get in the field, because it has to do with all this stuff and I enjoy all of it and it pays descent. I would enjoy everything because you find out everything about natural resources and it will prolong are life time and earth cycle, and our children and our future will live in a safer and healthier habitat and I think where we live and the future is one of the most important things in life.

HOW CAN YOU GET THE BEST OUT OF BUTTE COLLEGE
Well the most I can do is try my best to succeed in what evar I am taking,if not I will do my best, you cant be the best at everything.as long as you try,I will not slack off or goof around because this is the real world,it is not junior high or high school, this is reality now, ther is no more excuses, you are not being forced like when you were a minor, now it is classes you want to take and learn, you will meet new friends in your classes, and the school,so I wont feel like I am doing it alone and maybe we can help each other out so things will be a little easier, because it's been six years since Ive gone to school of any sort, and that way things wont seem as heptic.and of course Ill have to keep up with my counselours and teachers, so they know where Im coming from and where I want to go,and they will help me on what I need to take to transfer or get any kind of certificate because right now I am clueless on what I want to take and be,but as long as Im on time,do my work and dont be tardy and keep up with my classes, teachers and counselours everything else will fall right into place, because all I know right now is something outside and problably have to do with natural resources etc.
EXSPECTATIONS AND GOALS FOR THE SEMESTER
Well my exspectations are really unknown,it's been six years since Ive been in school of any sort, but I always did pretty good,so thats why I im back.My goals are to succeed in all my subjects, and adjust back to school pretty quickly and by the end of the school semester ,I will have a better idea on which degree or certifacate I want, then I will figure out what classes I really do need to take to get that degree or certificate. Then I will eventually transfer to a different school, which that is still undecided, hopefully I will have a better idea on what I want to be,and by the end of the semester and I could go to a school that has a high academic level in the field I want to take.
